Kashkouli 

The important nomadic people of the Ghashghai have settled in the south of Iran, in the province of Fars, for centuries.

The hand-knotted carpets of the Kashkouli also enjoy an excellent reputation in Europe. They are mostly high-pile and are hand-knotted with Turkish knots from the robust wool of the fat-tailed sheep breed.

Most Ghashghai are now sedentary and are known to be the main producers of Persian Gabbeh carpets. Only because the Ghashghai have now settled down for the most part can they also produce large-format carpets.

Material

The pile of this kashkouli was hand-knotted from high-quality new wool.

New wool is a renewable, natural raw material with a number of impressive properties: Due to the natural fat content of the wool, the surface repels water droplets and is therefore naturally impregnated against dirt.

Wool also offers excellent thermal insulation, has a regulating effect on the indoor climate and dampens noise.

PATTERNS

The wide border is decorated in the color brown/copper.

The central one is kept in a light brown with touches of orange and konjac in the background.
