Bidjar carpets were knotted in the province of Kermanshah in north-western Iran. Bidjar carpets are the most solid and highest quality and durable oriental carpets.

Bidjar carpets have a particularly thick weft yarn that is extremely tough.

The knotting of Bidjar carpets is so dense and firm that dirt particles hardly have a chance to settle.

The pattern of a typical Bidjar has lush floral motive - leaves and branches and often has the decorated borders.
